Be true to thine self

This year has been a real year of learning for me.  One of the biggest lessons that keeps coming across is to be true to myself.  No matter what.  I can not possibly make others happy if I am not happy.

As women we are taught to "care" for others.  Is it really caring if I am feeling ragged and worn down while I am doing the good deed?  Giving selflessly and continuing to giving for no valid reason when you are not getting anything in return is never a good thing.  One must give in order to receive, yes, but there is a point where too much is given.
It is important to take a step back and look a the whole picture.  Is this person taking and taking without giving back?  Am I taking and taking without giving back.  There must be a happy medium of give and take.
If it doesn't feel good, don't do it.  Only give from an open, unattached heart.

No one can make you feel bad about your true feelings and dreams.  If your hearts desire is met, no one can deter you from what you feel like you need to do.  No amount of fear, money, or anger can steer you away from what you were brought here to do.  If you deny yourself that right, you will be stuck in a vicious cycle of problems and accidents.  Doing something because someone else wants you to will never bring you true happiness.

Dr. Suess says:
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."

Pakenham Beatty says:
"By your own soul, learn to live
And if men thwart you take no heed.
If men hate you have no care.
Sing your song, dream your dream,
Hope your hope and pray your prayer."

Neil Simon says:
"Don't listen to those who say, "It's not done that way." Maybe it's not, but maybe you will. Don't listen to those who say, "You're taking too big a chance." Michelangelo would have painted the Sistine floor, and it would surely be rubbed out by today. Most importantly, don't listen when the little voice of fear inside of you rears its ugly head and says, "They're all smarter than you out there. They're more talented, they're taller, blonder, prettier, luckier and have connections…" I firmly believe that if you follow a path that interests you, not to the exclusion of love, sensitivity, and cooperation with others, but with the strength of conviction that you can move others by your own efforts, and do not make success or failure the criteria by which you live, the chances are you'll be a person worthy of your own respect."

Affirmation for being true to self:I am a lover of my gifts.  I am present. I am forthright. I am honest. I am loving. I have responsibilities to keep. I have agreements to honor. I have a mission pressing at my back. I am here to please my heart. I am here to offer myself to the world-- to please my Creator and the Mystery, by growing into everything I am meant to be.

"Nirvana or enlightenment or spiritual growth can be achieved only through resistant exercise of real love."

Enlightenment affirmation:

World of Illusions

At some point in my life, not sure when, someone told me a lie about myself AND I BELIEVED THEM!
I was told that I wasn't pretty enough, rich enough, thin enough.... I wasn't living up to what their preconceived notions of me.  The saddest part was that I believed them.  I believed them when they told me all these things because I didn't have enough self esteem to tell myself they were wrong.

Thoughts are things.

So I became what they told me.  I was so caught up in the emotions of the situations that I didn't stop to rationalize WHY they were telling me these untruths.  Looking back with a clear head, I realized that those people had problems of their own.  More than likely, they had self esteem issues, parental problems, they repeated what peers said, or they repeated what was being pumped to them through T.V.  They were being ruled by their own illusions.  So, they dealt with it the way they were taught....by being judgmental to others in order to protect themselves.

So, it is up to me to forgive them.  Forgive them for choosing me to pick on.  Forgiveness for feeding into the illusions that all people have learned from each other.  I must also forgive myself for not being strong enough to stand up for myself.  When I forgive and let go I am releasing them and myself from the illusions that we both set up for each other.  After I have forgiven and let go, I must replace the empty space with love and thankfulness.  Thankfulness and love for the lessons that I have learned from the experiences.

When I was a little girl, I played with Barbie dolls.  I can remember examining these dolls and thinking that they didn't look like me. I didn't have all the "accessories" that they have.  I later learned that I didn't need to look like them or have what they had.  I understood that everyone is different in their own special way.  Everyone has a gift to give.  If they choose to see it!

The change starts with me.  If I don't give in to others' illusions of how they think I should be, I can't be seen as such.  If I see people for what they really are I can help change the world.  Inside everyone is a good person, no matter what they've done in the past.  The past does not define us because it is over with.  The past is so we can learn how to live in present more effectively.

Illusion Affirmation:
I lovingly submit and surrender the illusions of this world.  I realize that truth will extinguish all illusions.  When I release the illusions, I have more love to give and I am free.

Dis-ease and Sickness

Many people think that if they are sick, it is because of an outside source.  When in fact, it is derived from a dis-ease in their mind.  All sickness is created from a negative thought that brought on the illness or dis-ease.  Dis-ease is described as an imbalance.  The imbalance can be caused from anger, hatred, fear, egotistical thoughts from the past held onto that turned into the illness that now affects you.  What you think about, you bring about.  Good, bad, or ugly.  If you are in a state of peace, there can be no dis-ease.  There will be only peace.  If you are in a state of hatred or fear, only fear or hatred will be brought to you.

I encourage all to think about your particular affliction.  Go deep within your mind, without fear, to the first time you had this problem.  Explore why you had a negative reaction to what has now turned into your illness or dis-ease.  Forgive yourself for being vulnerable to it.  Forgive others for inflicting pain to you.  Love them and yourself fearlessly and unconditionally and you will cure yourself of the ailments.  Freedom from fear will bring you freedom from dis-ease.  When you release yourself from the fear that binds you, MIRACLES will occur.

We must remember that the past is over, the future isn't here yet.  Only this moment truly exists.  Love who you are, what you are, and what you do.  You are the power in the world, you get to have whatever you choose to think.  Love is ALWAYS the answer to healing of any sort.  You are the master of your own mind, go within to find your power and healing.

Louise Hay Says:
"You have the power to heal your life, and you need to know that. We think so often that we are helpless, but we're not. We always have the power of our minds…Claim and consciously use your power."

Marianne Williamson says:
"The practice of forgiveness is the most important contribution to healing the world."

Impeccable means to be without fault or blame in accordance to the highest standards.

I am impeccable when....
....I don't force my opinions on others.
.....my timing is perfect.
.....my intentions are pure.
....I speak with integrity.
....I don't pass gossip.
....I say what I truly mean.

Word of the Day~ Treasure

I treasure myself and others by following my dreams and aspirations!

There is a treasure deep inside of me- waiting to be released.  Follow the treasure map to find the beauty that resides within!

Prem Rawat says:
"Happiness is your own treasure because it lies within you!"

Joseph Cambell says:
"It is by going into the abyss that you recover the treasure of life.  Where you stumble, there lies a treasure."

Quiet Time

In the age we live, there are many possible distractions,  if we let it.  TV, cell phones, radio, people, cars, work, obligations, responsibilities......
A very important life lesson for me lately is balance.  I had a misconceived notion that I had to do everything for everyone else.  I found that I was just getting in the way of what is really important by allowing the distractions of the world around me. In doing this, I was neglecting the most important thing of all... myself.  When I am in a state of quiet, my thoughts seem more organized and I can rejoin the "real world" stronger than before.

How do I take care of myself?  Taking a leisurely walk in the park, reading, meditating, playing music, writing in a journal....  Most of all finding the time to be alone with self and reflect on my experiences.
I must be strong enough to require alone time and others will respect me and my time more.  I open the door to inspired thought.  It comes to me is by allowing the distractions to subside and the enlightenment will flow into the uninhabited space.

Let me break it down to this simple equation:
Allow time for self + teach others how to = help change the world!

An affirmation:
I now go within to my quiet space for reflection and relaxation.  I connect with my higher self and find my place of peace.

Word of the Day~ Dream

~Dare to dream you might get what you expected!
~My deepest dreams were sent from the divine.
~Don't be pushed by your problems, be led by your dreams.
~Dreams are like the paints for a great artist.  Dreams are your paints, the world is your canvas.  Believing is the brush that converts your dreams into a masterpiece of reality!
~You are never to old to start dreaming!
~Whatever you dream, do it!  Boldness has power, genius, and magic in it!
~Dreams are blocked when you allow fears to take over.

Dorothy says:
"Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true!"

Henry David Thoreau says:
"Go Confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you've imagined"

Word of the Day~ Miracle

A miracle is an event attributed to divine intervention.
They happen everyday in every moment, If I CHOOSE to see it.
You can accomplish miracles by practicing love and openness a little at a time.
They will happen when you expect them!  The power to work miracles is up to you!
Prayer is the medium of miracles.  Miracles are natural.  When they do not happen, something is has gone wrong.  They come quietly into the mind that takes the time to stop and stand still.

Bon Jovi says:
Miracles happen everyday, change your perception of what a miracle is and you'll see them all around you.

Louise Hay says:
Love is the great miracle cure.  Loving ourselves works miracles in our lives.

Where there is Evil, imbue Love

In light of recent political activity, I thought it best to send out a kind reminder of love.

Where there is evil or hate, do not bring attention to it.  Do not favor it. Simply send love to the source.  Ask your Creator to take care of the situation.  There is good in all.
By taking revenge, you are equal to your enemy.

I pray for peace, guidance, love, hope, but never NEVER Violence!

I am not usually a bible quoter but here goes,
Romans 21:12 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Prov 24:17 Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice,

Ezek 33:11 Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?'

Word of the Day ~ Innocence

Innocence is openness and purity of heart.
Openness to whatever may come.
Be open to what comes your way.  Do not judge or control it.
Don't say no, go with the flow!

Mahatma Gandhi says:
"The greater our innocence, the greater our strength and swifter our victory."
