The word trust has the same root as true and tree, it comes from an old Nordic word meaning "hard wood". So it really means strong, durable, and real.
In our lives, people have lied to us, treated us with disrespect, and mistrusted us. For many people, one of these acts would shut them down from a positive relationship forever. For others, they keep on trusting even if it brings them harm.
Trust yourself: rely on your senses, your intelligence, your experience, and your knowledge to provide the information you need to make the right decisions. Trusting self also means to be honest with yourself about your feelings. If you don't trust yourself, you can't trust anyone. Remember, you know more than you think you do.
There is a little voice inside of us that encourages us to do amazing things...trust this voice not to fail you.
Trust others: going beyond our personal fears, communicating what we want, and asking for clarification if something is different from what we expected.
We must remember to trust people to be whom they actually are, not whom we expect them to be. This one thought could change the way we look at every relationship we've ever had.
Ralph Waldo Emerson says:
" Trust men and they will be true to you; treat them greatly and they will show themselves great."
"Trusting self is the first secret to success."
