Just for today, Do not worry

Just for today, I will not worry.  This is another of the reiki principles.  Releasing worry brings healing to the body and soul.  We live in a society of possible endless worries...will the bills be paid on time, what so and so saying about me, am I smart enough, good enough.....let those mindless thoughts go.  Give them to your creator to handle so that you may do what you were sent here to do.

Worrying is a form of stress on the body and can bring on many ailments that can lead to serious dis-eases. 
Worrying is a focus on illusion.  What you are worrying about is not real.  It is often caused by not having all the facts, trust issues, or fear of the unknown. 

Take 20 minutes a day to relax and meditate.  Find out the facts of what worries you.  
Blessed is the person who is too busy to worry in the daytime and too sleepy to worry at night. 

Ben Franklin says:
"Do not anticipate trouble or worry about what may never happen.  Keep in the sunlight. "

Ralph Waldo Emerson says:
"Some of your hurts you have cured,
And the sharpest you still have survived,
But what torments of grief you endured
From the evil which never arrived."


Wendell Berry, "The Peace of Wild Things" says: 
I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief.... For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free. 

Affirmation for worry:
I am now free from things that are beyond my control. I now focus on generating optimistic and kind thoughts and my life begins to flow in a more positive direction.
